IV Drip Services in Houston
Our Drips
We’d rather be straight with you about what an IV can do. IV fluids rehydrate you faster than drinking when you’re dehydrated from heat, illness, or exercise. The benefits of vitamin drips for people who are already healthy are less well proven, and we won’t claim otherwise. What we can promise is a screened, clean IV with a clear list of what’s in the bag.
Each IV drip is a bag of sterile saline or balanced electrolyte fluid, sometimes with added vitamins or minerals. It runs slowly into a vein in your arm while you sit back.
- Hydration drip. Saline or lactated Ringer’s (electrolyte fluid) for heat, exercise, or illness dehydration. From $99.
- Vitamin drips. Fluids with added vitamins or minerals, such as a Myers-style drip. We list the ingredients and the price before we start.
Prefer a quick option? Vitamin injections, such as B12, start at $35 and take a few minutes.
What is in a Myers cocktail? A Myers cocktail is a vitamin and mineral IV named after Dr. John Myers, the Baltimore physician who used it. It usually contains magnesium, calcium, several B vitamins (such as B12, B6, and B5), and vitamin C, mixed into IV fluid. Clinics vary the exact recipe and doses, so ask what’s in the bag. At J9 we list every ingredient on your treatment record.

What IV Therapy Can and Can’t Do
| IV therapy can | IV therapy can’t |
|---|---|
| Rehydrate you faster than drinking when you’re dehydrated | Cure a hangover. It treats the dehydration, not the alcohol’s other effects. |
| Help you feel better after vomiting, diarrhea, or heat exposure | Boost a healthy immune system. The evidence for this is limited. |
| Deliver vitamins directly when you can’t keep food down | “Detox” your body. Your liver and kidneys already do that. |
| Be a comfortable, supervised way to top up fluids | Replace water, food, sleep, or treatment for a medical condition |
Who Comes to J9 for an IV
Houston heat
Outdoor workers, runners, and anyone stuck in a hot car or a summer of yard work can lose more fluid than they replace. A hydration drip gets you back to normal quickly.
Recovering from a stomach bug
When you’ve lost fluids and can’t face drinking, an IV helps.
Long training days
Endurance athletes sometimes use IV fluids after events in the heat.
Low fluid intake on weight-loss medication
Some people on GLP-1 medications eat and drink less than they need. If you’re in J9’s weight loss program, we check your hydration as part of your care.
Run-down during a busy stretch
Some people simply feel better after a drip. We’ll tell you honestly that evidence for this is limited, and we’ll never push a package.
Who Should Not Have IV Therapy Without a Doctor’s Approval
Your screening checks for these before any IV is placed:
Heart failure or kidney disease
Extra fluid can be dangerous.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure
We need it under control first.
Pregnancy
We need approval from your obstetrician.
G6PD deficiency
High-dose vitamin C can harm red blood cells, so we test before vitamin C drips.
Blood thinners or bleeding disorders
Bruising risk is higher.
Allergies
Tell us about any allergy to an ingredient.
Is IV Therapy Regulated in Texas?
Yes. Since September 1, 2025, Texas law (House Bill 3749) has set the rules for elective IV therapy given outside a doctor’s office or hospital:
Physician authority
It must be ordered under a physician’s authority.
Licensed clinicians only
It may only be administered by a physician, physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse, or registered nurse.
No delegation
It cannot be delegated to unlicensed staff.
How IV Therapy Works at J9
Call
Phone +1 281-809-5115 and we will book you at the closer clinic.
Screening (about 10 minutes)
We take your medical history, medications, and allergies, and check your blood pressure and pulse. For high-dose vitamin C, we arrange a G6PD test first.
Recommendation and price
We suggest the drip that fits why you came in, tell you the price, and list the ingredients before we start.
Your drip (30–60 minutes)
A small IV line goes in your arm. You relax in a private treatment area while the bag runs, and you are monitored throughout.
Aftercare
Keep the small bandage on for about an hour. Mild bruising can last a few days. Call us if the site becomes red, hot, or swollen.

Why Choose J9 for IV Therapy

Honest Claims
We’ll tell you what an IV is likely to help with, and when water and rest would do just as well.
Connected Care
If your fatigue points to something else, such as low iron or thyroid problems, we recommend you see your doctor rather than sell you more drips.

IV Therapy FAQs
How long does an IV drip take?
Most drips take 30–60 minutes, plus about 10 minutes for screening on your first visit.
Does it hurt?
You’ll feel a quick pinch when the line goes in. After that, most people feel only a cool sensation in the arm.
How quickly will I feel better?
If you’re dehydrated, many people feel better during or soon after the drip. Effects of vitamin drips in healthy people vary, and some people notice nothing.
How often can I get IV therapy?
It depends on why you’re getting it. We don’t recommend regular drips without a reason, and we’ll tell you if more often isn’t helping.
Do I need to prepare?
Eat something light beforehand, wear a top with loose sleeves, and bring a list of your medications.
Is IV therapy safe?
For most healthy adults it is low-risk when screened and placed by licensed staff. People with heart or kidney disease, pregnancy, or G6PD deficiency need medical approval first.
Can I get an IV for a hangover?
An IV can treat the dehydration that comes with drinking, which may help you feel better. It doesn’t speed up how quickly your body clears alcohol.
IV therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Individual responses vary.
